La Jolla Hotels with Swimming Pool

"Hidden fees, the hotel was atrocious, dirty, and in horrible condition. Honestly I don’t feel safe for the 6 hours I could stand to be there. Listen to the bad reviews!!! They changed my room twice and each time the rooms were equally as disappointing. Thankfully they refunded the two days I didn’t stay but other than that it was awful. "

"I stayed in the Garden area. It was perfect for me. I really enjoyed the beautiful flowers and sitting areas. I’m a light sleeper and this gated area was very quite and peaceful."

"Love the location of this hotel - walking distance to beach and shops in downtown Bird Rock. The property appears to have been recently updated based on the finishes and smell of new paint. Unfortunately, the update missed the mark in terms of amenities. Beds were low, lumpy, and uncomfortable. Not enough pillows. No coffee in room, no full-length mirror, no pool towels (had to use bath towels). The layout was strange - with a desk cramped in the corner. Temp was hard to regulate on a very warm weekend as A/C is provided by a mini-split system on the wall in center of room. Balcony is a nice touch, but when sitting on the balcony, the height of the railing wall doesn't allow one to see over it - so not much to look at! Be cautious when selecting a 1st or 2nd floor room as the rooms have been updated with vinyl plank flooring - which made it very noisy when the upstairs guest was walking around overhead with heels on. Nice looking hotel with convenient location, but for the same price I would likely choose other options available in La Jolla Village."
