The property was lovely, and clean. Beds were very comfy. It would have been good to have a tea towel and dish rack, to be able to wash dishes properly. Also would have been good to know where to take the rubbish; didn’t like leaving it all there like that.

More comments Trip@dvisor - "Kyoto Resident Experience" - December 2024. Roomy for our family of four adults; manager was very responsive to our requests; neighborhood offers nice dining and shopping, including a useful grocery store around the corner. Higashiyama subway station is very close, and Gion is a leisurely walk south.

Renovated traditional Japanese house, located near Gion. 24 hours supermarket within 50 steps, coin laundry within 30 steps. Very convenient for site seeing Only improvement I would recommend is better (and brighter) lighting Will recommend to other travelers

Beautiful traditional machiya very close to transit and walkable to many places. Laundry on the corner and grocery around the block. The stairs to the second floor were quite steep and the first floor could have used some more furniture, but really no real complaints

A very nice place to stay in the city. Quiet and clean. Close to many things, but still feels old-time charming. The little shopping area is past its prime, but still very quaint. The house is comfortable and accessible. Mr. Ryosuke Kimura was extremely nice and also helpful. He had very good suggestions regarding what to see and where to eat dinner nearby.

We booked this property after arriving in town and picking a location based on our physical location. We didn't realize until after booking that check in would need to happen at a completely different location which was a 45 min walk from where the unit is located. We didn't, we just threw away the money and went to another hotel. We weren't the only ones, there was another set of backpackers who had arrived and were looking for a way to check in. The location was good and from the outside, this looked like a nice place.
