The facility was very nice. The bathrooms/showers were clean. and the bedrooms were fine but the one thing that grossed me out was the rug in the hallway. I'm not sure if every floor's rug was a dirty as ours but it was very dirtyand gross. It didn't match the rest of the buliding. I also loved having the tea options.

The property is ok. You get what you pay. The staff is not the most friendly however. When we arrived to check in (after 10 PM) the front desk lady told us that the check in closed at 10 pm. Probably I’m not very familiar with Japanese customs regarding check in times, but I haven’t had the same experience in other properties across the country. I didn’t found any other information about that in our checkin information. She checked us in anyway, but in the most unfriendly manner. The same cold attitude was received during our two night stay.

Amazing hostel, I would say it's more like a hotel. For the price we paid, it's great value for money. They have multiple types of free and fresh coffee and tea. They also have access to a free ice machine, laundry, onsen, and an awesome dining area to use. Receptionists are also super nice. Doors are quite thick so we did not hear any noise, but it might depend on how loud some of the other guests are. Overall awesome experience.

Rooms were decent sized. Bathrooms were clean and there was a shared public bath for users. Female part could only be entered with a code and was fully equipped with products. Tea and coffee available for guests. Good walking distance from Kyoto station and nearby convenient stores (2 7/11 very close)

I needed a place to stay overnight in Kyoto, and found Sakura Terrace The Atelier as it was quite near the station. As I walked down the corridor to my room, I was a little worried as I could hear voices from the rooms I passed by, but once I stepped into the room - I believe the sound proofing was done well because the room was as quiet as it should be. The room was comfy, simple and practical, and amenities provided were more than sufficient. The first floor serves free coffee and tea, and also offers magazines and books for you to browse through. Overall I enjoyed my stay and slept really well, and would love to be back again!

The dryer in the laundry amenities areas need to be updated to actually dry clothes. They are so dysfunctional it took over 8 hours to dry a few things. A bit of wasted time, because we did not want to inconvenience others. The rooms were extremely small, but the staff made up for it with their excellent service in translation, visitor information. They were wonderful. We were very stuck looking for distilled water in Japan and the young woman wrote in Kanjii the proper translation so we could get my husband's sleep apnea machine working. She was polite and wonderful, very multi lingual. The place was very chill, relaxed and welcoming. This made up for the still irritating, inefficient dryers.....

On a quiet street just a short walk from Kyoto station which was key to getting around the city. Enjoyed the shared lounge area and coffee and tea they offered. Would stay again.

Fun boutique hotel. The bath was nice! The rooms were very small and the walls were pretty thin (we needed white noise to filter out some of the noise from the rooms around us). We enjoyed the coffee in the morning. The laundry was a nice option but the driers didn't really dry the clothes. Great budget option but we would probably spend a little more to find something quieter in the future.

Great price for a quick over night stay. The room was clean and cozy for 1 person. Although it’s shared bathroom, it was nice to have a hot bath. The downside was that I could hear other people walking the corridor after midnight and early morning as people use toilets. Also I could hear the sound of people walking in their rooms upstairs as I stayed in 2nd floor which woke me up few times at night and in the morning.

Abosultely fabulous little place on a budget. Close to rhe train for day trips and connections to the rest of the city. Free coffee and teas during the day and although rhe room was small and shared shower facilitates it was immacutae and privacy of cublicals. The food wasn't to my taste but was great to have some thing first thing. Excellent value for money for a clean and compact place.

I personally loved the bathhouse they have. Everything was tidy. We did not get the room we expected to but it was still nice. Had window that opened for fresh air. Coffee and tea options were diverse, good atmosphere. near Kyoto station.

Really stylish hostel not too far from Kyoto Station. Great attention to detail and friendly staff. Buffet coupon if you stay more than 3 days is a really nice perk!

Great base for exploring Kyoto
Unformal and cozy place with great service. Small rooms, but really good layout and looks new and fresh. Great public area for socializing and relaxing. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Best black coffee I had in Japan! Nice public bath area with good showers etc, but the bath was kind of luke warm and did not feel quite clean.

The location is very good and even though there is no toilet in the room but we really enjoy the public onsen. It’s really interesting. The mattress is a bit thin and not very comfy. Room is not very big but manageable.

Great base for exploring Kyoto!
This place is somewhere in between a hotel and a hostel - and it’s definitely our favourite of all the places we stayed in Japan. The rooms might be tiny but they have everything you need (and small rooms seem to be very common in Japan), the shared shower room is like being in a spa and the communal areas are very stylish but still really welcoming. The free tea and coffee is a real perk - especially as its proper ground coffee and loose leaf teas. We stayed for 4 nights and it was the perfect place to explore Kyoto and the surrounding cities - Kyoto station was just a 5 min walk. Only suggestion I have is to put towel hooks in the bedrooms - as we struggled to keep them dry for reusing... but that’s so minor compared to everything else! Excellent value for money and would definitely stay again.

Rooms are small by Western standards but if you have two small suitcases they can fit. Bed was comfortable and a good size. Even though there are many rooms on each floor it was still quiet. The main problem is that there is only one small bathroom on each floor (one toilet for men and two for women) which can be far from your room. The showers are on the ground floor so you have to go down to shower but you get a nice kimono-style suit and toiletries to make it comfortable. The public bath is relaxing and clean. It is a close walk to Kyoto station and there are a few nice spots to eat and drink nearby.

I gave this property an excellent rating overall, due to close proximity to train station, big shopping centre nearby, and a quiet restful sleep. The bath/ bathroom is unbelievably relaxing. My only criticism was the length of the bed, our room was 6 feet wide and I was unable to lie straight while sleeping. Select a large room size if you're a tall person.

This hotel was AMAZING! The common area has lots of books as well as coffee and tea. It was awesome to hangout on the comfy couches. In the morning for 800 yen per person they have a delicious breakfast that’s part buffet including both Japanese and weather style dishes. In the evening for 600 yen per person there’s a buffet dinner (really worth it). Yes the rooms are small but we barely spent any time in the room because of the nice common area. The shared bathroom is very luxurious! They have every shampoo imaginable. The shower stall is big enough to bring clothes and change after showering. Someone mention that the doors were slightly see through which worries me but the way the showers are set up there’s a wal in front of them. You won’t be seen at all. Furthermore they have hairdryers, hair bands and hairbrushes in case you’re missing those items. Overall we LOVE our stay here!
