This is a unique hotel.
Modern, looks newly built, but with an early 1900's facade, which was an original colonial era building from that time. Inside the theme of the place is in line with a similar era, hence the name of the hotel being "Hotel 1936", I guess.
Once inside, it's like going back in time, but with a modern touch and the latest amenities. Okay the rooms are not the largest, but big enough. there is no restaurant, but lots just nearby, together with so many shops, a market and numerous other things to do.
I must add that being local and living quite nearby, I have watch with interest how the original building has been transformed and then extended by adding a high-rise to make a hotel. It only opened quite recently, and due to Covid and the lack of tourists at this time, the place is still virtually brand new.
After seeing it being built, I always wanted the chance to stay there, so when I needed a place to stay while my apartment was being refurbished, I decided to give it a try. Now I'm looking for another excuse to stay there again, even though I only live just down the road!
