Crystal Brook Resort & Mountain Brauhaus
2.5 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (77)
"We spent a long weekend, looking at the leaves in the Catskills. Our stay at the Crystal Brook Resort & Mountain Brauhaus was wonderful. While the accomodations were retro, it was a clean and comfortable room. The staff, family actually, were amazing, friendly and cheerful. The meals, breakfasts and dinner were hardy, and delicious. (The leaves were also right at peak, so that is a plus.)"

Catskill Mountain Lodge

7.8 out of 10, Good, (532)
"The lodge was amazing. The rooms were huge and very very spacious, including the bathrooms. Extremely clean and the mattress and pillows were the most comfortable ones I’ve ever come across in a hotel room. The staff was very friendly and warm. Unfortunately they were shutting down for business and I was apparently the last guest to checkout! I wish they’d keep it running. I’d go back to the catskills just to stay there!"

"Let's get this out of the way right now: this isn't the Marriott, Hyatt or Four Seasons. Walk up the front stairs and be greeted by two dogs who run the joint. Say hi to a few gentleman smoking cigars and having a beer. Walk inside, meet the owner who points you to the bar, says the first beer is on him, and welcomes you. Drop your stuff in your room. Walk to the bar, and see: stained glass lamps, a suit of armor, stuffed bears, a mounted elk, a mounted deer, plush couches, hotel guests...

"Filthy, outdated, broken down hotel. Staff don’t care and don’t respond. Dark, unlit lobby smells. Room is filthy dirty…stained walls, filthy furniture and phone. Stained toilet. Shower liner separating from base…like you’re standing on a sponge. No towels. No coffee in room and lobby coffee maker is broken and filthy. Window not shut or locked on main level, screen broken. Curtains half off the rod. Blood stain and. Bug found on sheets. No fridge in room. Was told there is no food at hotel and ...
