"Connie at desk very helpful, bellhop staff Excellent"

"Clean room, loved the pool/hot tub. Staff miscommunicated about how to pay for my stay, and attempted to authorize my card twice, which led to frustration and confusion. Power went out twice. First time I was in my room, I called the front desk to ask what was going on, and the receptionist was extremely rude and acted like I was bothering her for asking - we were in the middle of getting ready for the day and needed lights, and also had perishables in the fridge (which barely got cold anyway). Second time it happened when I was in the elevator - causing it to drop which was super scary. Again the front desk was rude when we used the call button in the elevator. Reported it to the front desk and they basically shrugged it off. Close to an ABC, target and a mall/food court. Wonderful housekeeping staff. Also had an excellent experience with Shandan at the pool. Overall, I’d stay here again if it was a cheaper option - but the staff (while aggressively polite) weren’t very accommodating or helpful when issues arose. "

"The hotel is great value and has everything you need. Rooms are clean and common areas are in good shape. The hotel is a little dated, but fits the vibe of Honolulu. We would highly recommend getting the breakfast as it had a decent selection with coffee and fresh fruits. I am recommending this hotel to all of my friends and would stay here again."

"The Luana Waikiki is a pretty mid range hotel in Waikiki a little off the beaten path. It is a lesser known hotel than some of the other ones but manages to keep some of the old Hawaiian charm without sacrificing comfort and modern amenities. What I really love are the kitchens in the rooms because they are fully equipped just like an apartment or small condo with toaster oven and blender etc so you can do your own cooking, non microwave reheating and feel like you are at home."

"Pros: - Location (10/10): One minute walking distance from the water, and close to anything you would want (food, etc.) - Fitness Centre (9/10): Large with lots of Equipment. - Staff (9/10): Except for a couple of staff, everyone we saw and dealt with was very friendly and helpful. Cons: - Shower and washroom area (3/10): very small and old. Not on par with the rest of the hotel. - Breakfast (4/10): Very repetitive (except for the rotation between bacon, and two types of sausages both of which were less than tasty) and very unappealing food. They had good fruits but as far as what you can eat for breakfast, left a lot to be desired (none of my family could even eat their scrambled eggs). Summary: The location by itself makes it an easy decision for me to go back there but there are some easy fixes to make this a very very good hotel. "

"This hotel was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The facilities included a laundry room for guests. The area is safe and the local bus stops right outside the hotel. The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant but there many options near by."
