Airport Honolulu Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
2/10 Terrible
"Initial room smelled like someone had been cooking food in it so we were given a second room. Second room had obviously not been used in quite some time as there was dust on the nightstand. There was no body wash in the dispenser. There were four of us staying in the room yet there was only two sets of towels in the bathroom. Both double beds were very uncomfortable and mattresses were worn out. There were mold spots on the ceiling in the bathroom and peeling paint. The bathroom light switch to enter the was filthy. I had to kill a fairly large bug with my book while sitting in the bathroom. The filtered in the ice machines needed to be changed per the unit itself. Carpet in the hallways was cut or worn or stretched out.
The location, although convenient for getting two and from the airport, Was not a good location for any type of restaurant or shopping or beach use.
The one positive was the cleaning staff. They were prompt with more towels and refilling of the soap dispenser."
"The elevator situation is terrible. Long lines to get to your room. It seemed like only 3 worked. There was no escalator’s working so you had to wait for elevator or take stairs.
Convenient place between mall and convention center and rooms were okay. We stayed in an Ocean View room but it really was “ocean partial view”."
"Destination fee of $50, and credit of $25 to food and beverages, or other souvenir does not make any sense. Staff were very helpful, Sera restaurant was very good."
"Really outdated hotel. Room 3951 is just awful. Carpet is tearing, door trims are chipped, wallpaper is ripped and falling, bathroom tub is rusty. I did not feel clean. My partner and I were severely disappointed. The hotel needs a major renovation. I personally, will not be a repeat customer of Hyatt in Waikiki."
"For the price it is what you'd expect. The spa was not hot. Other guests said it was broken. The pool is smaller than I'm used to. Breakfast was very good with variety each day. Elevators were an issue for floors 1-24. Only two worked and cleaning staff used them too- we rode with a worker hauling out garbage one day. Lines would form for elevators after breakfast. The parking exit gate was temperamental. The room was small but clean."
Best Western The Plaza Hotel Honolulu Airport - Free Breakfast
6/10 Okay
"I had a garden view room which would have been good but the entrance to the room is right next to the freeway. The traffic noise was horrible. The worst night sleep I have ever had in any hotel and I’ve stayed in many. Other rooms that don’t literally have a freeway practically on top of it are probably ok. Breakfast had a lot of choices."
"I love the Sheraton, in particular because I have a young child…. The pool is the best for kids (although the water is constantly too cold!! That is one thing I wish they could change about this hotel). The jacuzzi is large though and there are two of them. The beach access is great, and there is a Lawson’s to get snacks. One of the biggest perks I love if you have a young child is that they have actual mini cribs instead of those gross pack n plays that you can’t sanitize. I would stay here for the crib alone because it is clean and way more comfortable for the kids/babies to sleep in. It’s 39” long for anyone who needs to know.
Also, the fact that this hotel is right by Island Vintage is a huge benefit… we got food/coffee from there every single day because it is amazing."
