We very much enjoyed the view from this hotel room/suite. The design of the actual room was challenging. Doors to the closets, cabinets and microwave are mounted backwards. There is no screen door to the lanai. The AC is extremely loud (but thankfully it worked). The windows are old, and we could hear everything outside. The adjoining door was super thin, and we could hear everything our neighbors said and did. On our first night, I heard the neighbors having sex. Then I heard them arguing. Then I heard a man say, "You never let me enjoy myself." Not something I wanted to hear on my honeymoon.
The posting on Expedia shows that the site is on the water and that snorkeling is available. When I asked about swimming, the receptionist told me that the nearest swimming beach is in Kailua (which is a 20 minute drive). She said that even with reef walkers the bay was too rocky and muddy for swimming.
The pool had no bathroom. We had to go up two levels to our room to go to the bathroom.
I was told three things by three people regarding housekeeping and towel exchanges. We only asked for housekeeping once. We were terribly disappointed. They only changed the sheets and replaced the towels. No one cleaned the floors, the shower, nor wiped down the kitchenette. So we didn't bother to request it again.
The view was absolutely beautiful! The morning coffee, banana bread, and other treats were appreciated. We enjoyed the evening entertainment.
