This is a great place to stay, so close to all the historic sites of Istanbul. The hotel is really nice but it's the lovely staff who really make it special. They were so helpful and friendly.

Superb location and the rooms were stylish and well appointed. The room was a good size. The swimming pool was across the road at the sister hotel and we could not access towels, but was still nice. The street we were in a wall to wall restaurants including a Michelin star one that we dined at. this gave the street a great vibe and we enjoyed the streets of Sultanahmet. The proximity to to the mosques and palaces was very convenient as was the T1 tram stop and the end of the street. The staff were always pleasant and helpful - we arrived at 730am and needed to store bags and freshen up after a 24 hour flight. The wifi was free and of excellent quality. We opted out of breakfast as it was too expensive.

Great location where you can walk straight into buzzy areas of Istanbul with food and drinks options. Hotel was very nice decor staff friendly and helpful. Had breakfast on top floor which had great views and nice selection of choices. Struggled to find the parking as had hire car as roads was closed off and busy.

Overall, our hotel stay was comfortable. The hotel was clean, had very good breakfast, its proximity to landmarks was great, and when we needed assistance, the staff was prompt. A little renovation would better help it- renewing the carpet and furniture. I recommend this place.

I want to write as balance a review as possible, as although there are a lot of positives to mention, we had some significant issues too.

Firstly, the location of the hotel is fantastic, just a few minutes walk to many of the major sites in Sultanahmet. The breakfast was great, especially if you’re keen on exploring new cuisines. Having complimentary access to the pool, spa and gym was also excellent (although please note that if you book at “Sura Design”, you have to cross the road to access these). However, we had major issues with our room: we booked the “Sura Design” hotel, but on arrival we were informed that our room was actually in another of their buildings (they have 3 closely linked buildings). We didn’t mind this, as it meant that we were closer to the gym/spa/pool.
 The room itself, however looked very tired and was nothing like the original room we had booked. The hotel also has major maintenance issues: there was no safe and multiple items were broken, including the air-conditioning, bedside lamp and bathroom rails. Over the course of 3 days, we contacted reception multiple times: each time we were told that the issues would be fixed the next day. The only thing that was successfully sorted (after a lot of chasing) was that we were given a safe. There was no communication otherwise. We requested to change rooms on the 3rd day of our trip and were allocated a much nicer, functional room.

We had a great stay here. The property is well maintained and shares a Hamman-style Spa with their sister hotel across the street. Access to sauna and steam room was included in the stay, which was an excellent relaxation after a long day of exploring the city!

Another great Stay

Our second stay with Sura was another great experience. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. The location also can’t be beat!
