"Really lovely little hotel (12 rooms?). Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Location very convenient for Torquay but far enough away from the noise. Beautiful 19th century property. Hosts very friendly, everyone greeted at breakfast by their names - how do they remember everyone's name??! Lovely breakfast all made to order - good variety. Would definitely stay again if in Torquay. We booked through expedia but worth looking at booking direct."

"Lovely hotel The Location was perfect! The room was very clean although very stuffy at night but there was a fan in the room and the window can be opened and was still very quiet. Loved the pool & spa facilities. Breakfast there was plenty of choice. Will definitely stay here again if we visit the area. If I was being very picky the only complaint we had was the evening meal portions were very small for the price that we paid. Would definitely recommend this hotel for staying."

"Last minute overnight work stop, made to feel very welcome especially considering how unexpected I was. The place has been decorated to a very high standard and kept its character. Room was immaculate and comfortable. Breakfast was top notch. Highly recommended would definitely stay again. "

"One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. It’s a lovely traditional hotel building (1920s shall we say?) which has been beautifully renovated and refurbished. Both the big picture and the small details are delightful. Staff service was friendly with a real sense of team and purpose. I haven’t mentioned the small outdoor pool (constant 27c) or hot tub simply because I didn’t use them this time! "Property owner Julia was excellent, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had a balcony room which gave us extra space during our stay. Balcony is small but adequate for 2 people to sit out and enjoy the sea view and fresh air. Bed was comfortable. Property is very clean and well presented. Lovely outdoor pool and garden area. "

"From check in which was very straightforward to checkout which was exactly the same we had a fantastic 5 night break. Great communication from Will the owner made everything easy. "Our room 172 was clean, spacious and included an en-suite walk in shower. Breakfast included English style cooked , yogurt & berries, cereals, fruits, toast with all jams, marmite and honey. mini pastries were also available. We ate in the dining room and from the bar menus. Staff were very professional, kind and gave service with a smile. To note Mel from the Spa was fantastic, we had x2 full hour treatments each "
