"Room spotless and staff efficient"

"The room was spacious, large beds, ensuites and a lovely big living space. The lighting was a bit dim, more lamps would be good. Small things didnt work well, ie, no bedside lights, front door wouldnt lock (except for the yale), a bulb was out, we scouldnt get the phone to reception to work and wifi didnt work either. Some of the blinds need fixing too. However, lovely linen, comfy beds, great location and quiet. "

"Really beautiful location, very friendly and helpful staff, rooms have an amazing view and comfy bed. Really spacious bathroom for just their standard size room, and really powerful shower. The only slight disadvantage is that the room had no heating on but was very warm somehow, so we had to sleep with the windows open. The breakfast had a good selection of choices, and fresh eggs."

"Find someplace else is my advice. Great location to the Chester Cathedral & that’s the best I can say. Reception couldn’t bother welcoming me, except to hand me my room key. I’m 72 years ago & I had to carry a bag up three flights of stairs with no offer of assistance. The carpet on the stairs & in the hallways is dirty, stained, frayed in places. Room was good size but no outlets to plug in a phone - had to unplug a lamp. No outlets in bathroom to plug in a hair dryer or curler so once again...

"Rooms were nice and were clean. Only negatives were 1) there's not really a desk in the room . Only a round stool with no back on it so difficult if you're using the hotel for business. 2) There were no vegan main meals on the menu which is disappointing."

"Our standard double room was pretty small and the ensuite was small and definitely 'a bit tired'. Room cleaning (specifically the toilet pan) wasn't very good. The bar was fine and the bar food was good. Breakfast was unlimited, but wasn't the best we've had. The grilled tomatoes were under-cooked and the toast was completely unwarmed on one side (on each of our 3 days). The staff were friendly and efficient. "Stayed two nights - good size room, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast, friendly hosts, good location with pubs and places to eat a few minutes walk away. Easy to get into Chester from here. Excellent."
