"A very convenient location next to the river. Close to everything. Charming Victorian hotel. Carpets need to be replaced, but generally the place was in good shape. Clean. Breakfast was classic buffet, nothing exciting, but plenty to eat and everything tasted fine. Dinner was pretty good. However, there are plenty of restaurants and pubs in the area, so I am guessing many guests are not having dinner at the hotel. The bar (in the restaurant) had a few draft beers and plenty of liquor choices. The staff members were all VERY friendly and helpful. "

"Behind our door hadn’t been vacuumed- for ages. Lumps of dust - not seen if door was open but closed it drew the eye - what is that on the carpet? Apart from the above all was good "

"Highly interesting things to see and do in the lobby area (chess! books!), as well as the art and historical lithographs adorning the walls in hallways and in our room. Wonderful accommodations. And so close to the railway station and fun restaurants, including The McGregor Bar."

"The room was good, and it was easy to find a parking spot. The view from the breakfast room was great. But the room was not very soundproof, and I could hear people walking upstairs."
