Staff were excellent apart from a lady at the front desk that was kind of rude on the fact that we could not bring food to the swimming pool ( that wasn’t explained to us at check in ), she made us feel very uncomfortable. But the two other gentleman at the front desk were great!"
"Loved our stay here. We had a very friendly warm welcome, great room, restaurant dinner & breakfast great, so convenient to have tram stop outside hotel for easy quick access into the city to explore. Pool was lovely and hotel has a great vibe. Will definitely return. "
"I really love this hotel. It is part of the Contact chain of hotels. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The public tram is only a few minutes from the hotel. Parking is easy and free.
There is no laundry facility in this room, though Expedia lists it as one of the amenities. There is a laundromat in the shopping mall close by.
Overall, La Provencale is great value for the money. "

There were quite a few restaurants within walking distance, which was really convenient. The only complaint is that there’s no elevator, so we had to carry our heavy suitcases up and down the stairs. Overall, a good stay with just one main inconvenience"
"Disappointed that on arrival had to pay again for the room even though i confirmed i had a receipt for payment in advance. Also the reception was unmanned midday and could not gain access. Lucky it was not raining!

"They have pictures of nice and clean beautiful rooms in the website but this is not true. The room smelled and it had little bugs in the bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom has mold and it was very warm. The towels had stains. I would not recommend this unless your on a very low budget. "

(I’d recommend contacting owners - you often need a code for locked gates to get quai side - they don’t give you this information so you need to request it) we found the setting beautiful. Loved the decor in the Art Deco room of the Barge. The hosts provide everything needed, even putting milk, butter and orange juice in the fridge on arrival which was a nice touch. "We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is right opposite the lake, which is nice for walks, and there is a beach area. We had a hire car (parking was 8 euros a night) but if we hadn't, the tram line was close by. We had a studio room with a small kitchen area, which meant we could self-cater if we wanted - the fridge was really handy. The pool area was a nice addition but very small - only 4 sun loungers, and the pool wasn't very big. There was a lovely restaurant (La Ferme) a couple of minutes walk down the road which we discovered on our last evening. Would definitely stay here again. "

"This nice and modern aparthotel is well maintained and its location is very convenient as there is a tram station just half a block away. You can be in Bordeaux’s historic center in less than 20 minutes and if you’re traveling to the next destination by train, the train station (Saint-Jeanne) is just half an hour away at just 3.3 Euros per person. I highly recommend this hotel. I would book again. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment about that. The staff is friendly and they explain well to you what you can do in town. "
