We got to the hotel in the morning before check in but were given a temporary key to use the pool facilities. The pool is absolutely amazing and we enjoyed using this facility, however, the day we were there it was Easter Monday and for some reason the pool bar was closed, hence the pool area was pretty quiet. We could order drinks through a telephone service by the pool but it took a whole hour to have the drinks delivered. So we were wondering how the rest of the service was going to be during our stay. Later on when checking in we were upgraded free of charge to a Penthouse which was actually amazing. It was our wedding anniversary and I had only booked a standard king room so this was a wonderful surprise. Also we were given a bottle of champagne on ice on arrival to our Penthouse. We had booked a meal out that night and felt reluctant to leave the lovely Penthouse!! Thank you for upgrade The Darling! We also wanted to try the Nineteen restaurant but prior to our night at the Darling, I found out that the Nineteen restaurant wasn't open on Monday nights, so I managed to book into a neighbouring hotel for the night before so we could try the restaurant on the Sunday evening which was absolutely fantastic. We did have to pay surcharges during our stay as it was the Easter public holiday. But well worth it and extremely enjoyable.

I would have loved to give all 5 star reviews however we had a speaker hanging off the ceiling with a 1 inch gap, near the bed, you are always worried about secret cameras lol. Also, one night we got room service, the burgers were so burnt and charcoal we would have sent them back if we weren't drunk and starving. Oh, one night we got a fruit platter and it looked liked it was cut up and fridged 4 days ago. Apart from that, we loved our stay, room 888, it wasn't lucky lol.

loved everything, only thing i forgot to mention when we left was that the fridge in room 888 didnt seem to be very cold not sure if this is a new issue or what but just forgot to mention.

I love that the walls were sound proof I go to sleep with music on and I would up to music. So the fact I could play it the whole time I was there with bill concerns. Made me a happy customer. But let’s not forget room service was spot on and truly appreciated the attentiveness and kindness they all showed as in the staff that would come up . And also it was exactly as I pictured it I was super stoked!

The lady that checked me in was cold, dismissive and quite rude, and not a hint of a smile. No rapport, warmth or friendliness at all. I would never employ her in my business! However, the hotel was fabulous and all other staff warm and very friendly!!!

This truly is a luxurious place to stay, with easy access to fantastic restaurants and bars. Was also convenient to walk to Pacific Fair and the beach front.

I loved everything about my stay. The staff were extremely professional and nothing was an issue no matter how tedious it might’ve seemed. I could not recommend the Darling high enough to anyone I know. All staff treat you as if you were royalty and the rooms were extremely well put together. Every thing is extremely clean and always well presented

I paid much more than I normally would for the penthouse complete with a billiard table room. You can understand I was a bit disappointed when we say a massive cut in the felt on the table taped up with standard masking tape...

Amazing hotel let down by service
Fantastic hotel with great pool and rooms that have everything. The one disappointment being we arrived to check in at 3.30pm, having been told check in is from 3pm only to be told our room wasn’t yet ready. Nothing was offered to help accomodate us in the meantime, we had to ask if we could change and use the pool in the interim, were told we’d have to pay cash for any food or drinks since we hadn’t checked in. For a hotel that charges what the darling does this is well below expected service levels. Once we finally got into our room the stay was very enjoyable but that initial exchange means next time we’re looking to stay somewhere on the Gold Coast I’d likely look elsewhere.

Not sure if it’s due to COVID but not many staff around. Had to wait to check in before someone showed up then had to wait to get car until someone showed up. Lovely clean room and great bathroom. Service wise just didn’t feel like your usual 5 star.

A little bit of paradise
The room was amazing. It felt so spacious and luxurious. The bathroom was large with a gorgeous big bath. Everything that has been done is of high quality and thinking about a great client experience.

The staff were fantastic nothing was a problem and the room was exceptional. It was a terrible day outside but it didn’t matter as it is one place you could stay in your room all day

The hotel is absolute luxury the lobby is beautiful. Staff are lovely are very attentive. Room was stunning and the views just superb. A varied menu for breakfast and in room menu good too. A few facilities were closed but it didnt make any difference to our stay

A Great place for a night of celebration. Loved everything about the place. Especially some of the technology. Only thing was room service food a bit bland for a6 Star location, Bose system we couldn’t get to work. And stains on the stones. However still would stay again
