While the location is good (just a 5 min walk to Nagoya Hill mall), the hotel needs a good refurbishing. The interior has shown much age, the doors cannot close properly. Most crucially, the water is not clean (frequent yellow/brown water is seen from taps) and needs to let it run and flush away before being safe to use.

Stayed in a suite room. Staff were courteous and location is walking distance to Nagoya shopping mall. Shortfall was lack of hand soap at the basin. None at the kitchen and the other toilet. Also TV remote control had difficulty in pressing, and no YouTube. Time to upgrade. Will be staying again from 31 Dec - 4 Jan. Hope to see improvement. Overall still better value vs homestay for the price paid.

Hotel runs down a lot! The gym, the swimming pool and the room (suite). Please renovate them. Staff are awesome and location isn’t bad but the condition of the hotel is terrible. We wanted to move to the other place if and only if we could get our refund.

comfortable bed and a good location

Pleasant and helpful staff. Nagoya shopping center is 10 minutes away on foot, and Batam Mega Mall and the wet market are both 15-20 minutes away. It would have been nicer if the toilet had been renovated a little. The bed is comfortable and I had a restful sleep in the lovely bed.

I wasn't expecting much but was still disappointed

I don't understand the many positive reviews here... I wasn't expecting much from the hotel, but I was still disappointed by the place. It is pretty rundown and desperately needs a facelift. Everything screamed "old", the DVD collection in the lobby could be an interesting quirky touch but in context they just dated the place. Everywhere was dark - the lobby, the restaurant, the room. The room had a slightly damp odour, the coffee facility in the room had probably not been changed for months, the water ran brown indicating it hadn't been run for a long time. None of these things were a disaster but they don't exactly deliver joy! Oh, and the electric went out for about an hour on my first morning. On the plus side, the staff were reasonable and friendly, and I got a decent omelette for breakfast.

3D2N stay at Harmoni Suites Batam

The hotel lobby was welcoming and was good for hosting our local friends. They also had welcome drinks and snacks provided while we were waiting to checkin. The rooms were spacious and neat. However, the aircon in both rooms were very cold, even after switching it off! The aircon control doesn't seem to work. Extra linen is chargeable on a daily basis. I had pre-arranged a shuttle pickup from the Ferry Terminal. I gave them the timing of my ferry and left them my number when they said that the driver will contact me. However, the driver did not turn up until I had to give the hotel a call to check, incurring roaming charges. Also, check-in was stated as 2pm. When we arrived at 210pm, I was informed that because I had a prior request for 2 connecting rooms, the rooms are being cleaned now and will only be available at 3pm. With no other choice, my family went for a walk and returned at 330pm, only to be told that the rooms were STILL not available. We had to wait at Mick's Pub until 4pm before being given 1 room (because the other room was STILL being prepared). We went up, after being assured that once the other room was available, the receptionist will personally come up and give me the card to the other room. Well, at 430pm, after realising that nobody was cleaning the other room at all, my wife went down to ask the reception what was happening and only then did the reception check with housekeeping and found out that the room was already available.

Nice hotel, a little dated, pool looked very clean and showed almost no sign of usage including a lack of a chlorine smell that proved the water is quite clean. The location of the hotel is conveniently placed in a 5-min-walk distance from Nagoya Hill Mall, and about 20-min-walk from where the adult entertainment area is. The room itself is in good condition, though signs of age are everywhere, like some mould in the grouts of the tiles in the bathroom, black stains above the aircon vent presumably because it was the smoking floor, and a square hole where a power outlet might have been. But most importantly, everything in the room worked fine, except for the phone in the washroom.
