"I guess I could have stayed at the Virgin Hotel Nee Orleans. Or at other snazzy places. But staying at the Pontchartrain and its storied past, I felt I was connecting with New Orleans and its history in a deeper way. I especially liked the Silver Whistle cafe, the Bayou Bar and its excellent jazz offerings, the views from the Tin Roof (named after Tennessee Williams’ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” of course), and the Jack Rose restaurant. I highly recommend!"

"The Fairchild House is very charming, and all in all, is a nice place to stay, with reasonable rates. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful and good. Shrimp and grits on the weekend was so good, my husband became a convert. My biggest complaint is the tiny shower stall which needs something to make the shower floor non-slip. The bed was comfy, but the pillows were almost useless. The place was clean enough, with minor exceptions."

I thought it was located in a remote part of the city, but once you get to know the city, it's close to 91 Bus and Charles Street trolley. One of America's best bakeries is located only a few steps away from the location. Other than that, I dont know what to say after staying here for 2 days."

"The property was very close to all the places I needed to visit during my stay and the best part was it was all within walking distance. Very close to the interstate which was a plus. The room itself was wonderful. It was very roomy. We love how it has 2 bedrooms even though it was only my husband and I. The living room was far enough away from the bedroom so we were both able to watch what we wanted on separate TV. I would gave loved to have a tub but the shower was nice. The space was nice...
