"The location was great. The downsides: At the hotel restaurant, we were seated and then waited 30 minutes without being served. We tried making eye contact with the staff, but they ignored us. When we finally asked out loud for assistance, they brought two glasses of champagne, but by then we had already booked another place nearby and decided to leave. "James Bay is a wonderful place to stay in downtown Victoria. You wouldn’t know you were in a bustling city because it is so quiet. There’s an occasional clap clap of a passing horse drawn carriage which adds to its charm. The pub below offers delicious meals at a reasonable price.
