The Grand America Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Wow. That’s all I can say, wow. Our room had a full kitchen (except for an oven but I think the microwave could do something like that), wonderful kitchen, living room, double beds. So nice! The kids’ shop is so delightful. Whoever the buyer is, round of applause! Way to go! Best kids’ selection in a shop I think I have ever seen. Can’t wait to go back!!"

"The service was really good here - Staff was super helpful and friendly whenever I had any issues. However, I thought that it was a bit lacking overall compared to budget/cheaper options nearby. My friend’s parents stayed at the Crystal Inn, and it seemed to be a better stay. I thought the amenities/quality here would be worth the lack of free parking and breakfast, but that was not the case. For the first room we were put into, the lock did not work properly. We were promptly moved to a different room. During the second and subsequent days, there was no hot water. It got warm but never hot. Staff did send someone up, but the issue persisted. Luckily, our stay wasn’t for long. The shower was a bit dated, and the room was smaller than expected. The hotel room AC worked very well though. Very good location. Overall, it’s not bad, but there are cheaper and better options nearby."

"If you want to stay here. Stay in the opposite side of the hotel away from the bar. They must have had some event going on because people were screaming down the hall and someone had a microphone. You could almost hear the bar shenanigans going on from the other side of the hotel. It was impossible to sleep. I thought I was at a concert. Don’t recommend if you’re looking for an actual hotel."

"We made CONFIRMED reservation at the Radisson via Hotel.com 30 min prior to arrival. The late booking at Radisson was due to a mix up between Expedia and the Hyatt where we were originally booked. We expected that it would take a few minutes for Hotel.com to communicate with Radisson, so we had dinner there and waited for the reservation to arrive at the front desk. After the meal I checked with the front desk where I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and we would not be accommodated. We scrambled to find a room at the local Courtyard by Marriott. We are now going through the process to reverse the charges from Expedia and Radisson on our credit card. All very unnecessary. "
