"DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!! We “supposedly” had reservations to this place and when we got there they aren’t even open!! 8:30pm with 3 children in the car. New renovations taking place. New beds in the hallways looking through the door trying to find someone they don’t even have a front desk because it’s being remodeled. I’m ok with the remodel but what I will not tolerate is being scammed by the hotel for saying they have rooms and selling through Expedia when clearing they don’t have rooms...

"This stay felt more like a motel than a hotel, which wasn't what I was expecting during my New England road trip. Unfortunately, the blanket had a cigarette burn from a previous guest, and two of the three bath towels still had hair on them. That made me feel uneasy about the cleanliness of the room. The front desk staff also seemed annoyed during check-in, which didn't make for the warmest first impression. Overall, I wasn't very happy with my stay. Thankfully, I was only there for one night."

"We absolutely loved our stay at The Orchard House Inn! It was lovely and full of charm and character. Just what one would expect from Freeport, Maine! Our room was very comfortable, charming, and welcoming. The shower was a bit small but adequate. We stayed in the "Downstairs King Bedroom" (we called it the Book Room) and the bed was so comfortable! It was our best night's sleep on the entire trip! "Make sure you ask for a room away from the railroad. Our window was literally 25 feet from the railroad track. Although the front desk lady told us the train doesn’t pass at night, it did three times from 9 pm to 7 am, and the one at 4 am blew its horn when passing."
