We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and exploring Kalloni before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, important documents, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a tablet filled with your favourite shows are some fantastic options. If you plan to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable goods, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and take a sweater as it tends to get cool in the cabin on long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's plenty you can do to lower your risk. Wear a pair of compression socks or tights, stay hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
