"Highly recommend this place! Rooms are huge, bathrooms, kitchen area, laundry room, pool area and the overall general area are clean, and are well maintained. The bed is big and comfortable. Very short walk to a perfect sunrise on 4 Mile Beach. What really made this place stand out for me were the 2 employees I had many conversations with. Amazing people who made my trip even better that it already was and made me feel like I was welcome/at home. Will definitely be back and recommend you giving...

"Had a wonderful 10 night stay at Shantara. We loved being so close to Macrossan st and the beach, while the pool was an amazing end to each day. The Hotel was peaceful, beautiful and quiet. As is normal for Far North Queensland, there is not everyday cleaning service but we don’t use that anywhere anyway. Plenty of parking, but if you didn’t bring a car everything is walking distance with shuttle bus options for longer journeys. The only black mark of the stay were our neighbours on the pool...

"We were disappointed that we didn't get the room that we paid for - it did not match the advertised pictures and was smaller than advertised. The pools and spas were too cold to swim in and one of the spas was not working. The room was very dark and a big wall blocked our view. There was not enough cutlery for 2 people and there was no sink to wash it in. The blinds were stained and the pools had stains and chipped tiles. It was in need of a renovation and a good clean."
