"This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. We arrived, anticipating an attractive and heated pool. We discovered a very dirty, shabby out of date pool that was cold. After much communication with Expedia, the owners of the hotel turned up the temperature on the pool. Unfortunately, because the hotel was listed as a four-star hotel, but was maybe at least a 2 1/2 star or three star hotel, we decided to go somewhere else. "The location of the hotel was excellent right in the middle of Port Douglas can walk everywhere. The main part of the room was quite small so it felt very cramped with our luggage. The bathroom was large, and the shower was very comfortable. The one major drawback for us was that there was a lot of scares climbing up and down to the second floor. Due to our very large and full luggage, it was very difficult climbing up and down."

"The room was super spacious, big comfy bed, really nice bathroom, had everything we needed and there was a pool! Also, there was a shared kitchen next to the pool, if you wanted to go all out and cook your own food, otherwise, you had the necessities in your room. Super lovely staff also, very friendly and lovely to talk to."

"Outstanding lodge in a nature reserve with great facilities and friendly helpful staff. The chalet accommodation was spotless, comfortable and very well equipped, and the location in the nature reserve was great. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Only stayed one night, but wish we had stayed at least one more. Having said that, it was not cheap, but good value for what was on offer."
