"I am not really sure why the reviews here so poorly match the state of the hotel. It’s run down and a more than a bit grubby. The staff are lovely and helpful and do their best to take care of you but it doesn’t really make up for the fact that the hotel needs some serious upkeep. "

"The hotel is what you might expect from staying in a converted historic building. The room was a bit tricky to get to, going up and down flights of stairs and the room itself was small, but appropriate for a single traveler. It was on a part of Royal Street that was a little tricky to park on, but during weekday evenings I never had problems finding a space more than a hundred feet away. The courtyard is beautiful and the overall ambiance of the place is charming and heightened my experience....

"The property was well maintained with gated parking for safety. The room was very clean and comfortable. the shower had good pressure and was clean. The staff was fabulous and very knowledgeable. The location was conveniently situated within walking distance of popular places in the quarter. I am well pleased with the chouce to stay here and will do so again in the future. I would definately recommend this hotel."

"Our one night stay was really nice. Check-in, valet parking all smooth. Location on Toulouse was excellent, yet the room was perfectly quiet all night. Older home/hotel, but updated enough to be both NOLA charming and comfortable. Valet rate was better than most and worth it, especially if you have driven a truck around town looking for parking!! "This place is old but it’s well maintained. The room was rather small until I figured the square footage of the balcony. There was a table and four chairs and the area was not cramped. In fact we spent much of our time on the balcony watching the street activity. The hotel has covered valet parking on site but it’s pricey, $48/night with tip >$50.
