"The location was great. Honestly we expected a little more from a well known hotel/resort chain. A few issues.
1. TV wasn’t working - easy fix maintenance replaced just inconvenient.
2. Found sand in our newly made bed (question the. If it was changed).
3. Flushing the toilet cut the cold water to the shower so water can scold, not even a warning sign. Told maintenance when doing TV replacement.
4. No complimentary toiletries or water which always adds a nice touch for guests.
5. Patio/balcony door very heavy and hard to open.
The quality of the room was fairly low just In General. Very pokey bathroom with door opening up onto shower entry, awkward basin as faucet too short and worst of all was a very uncomfortable bed. Very hard mattress.
Just expected a better quality from Novotel name.
To top it all off when checking out the reception didn’t even ask how our stay was, just took the keys and said “okay”. I mentioned the sand in the bed and to pass onto housekeeping but frankly their reaction was quite disconnected. At least they apologised but still didnt ask how everything else was so didn’t bother.
I recommend management look at the guest experience and how to achieve a premium stay by just the little things. I know much can’t be done about room structure but ensuring all rooms are quality checked, low cost freebies (all others do it) and a show of care will go a long way."
