"Great experience overall! Positives: Beautiful large rooms with decent sound isolation, the views are beautiful, pool is clean and nice, water temperature is perfect. Lots of chairs. Kids activities by the pool are fun (games). Nice shops, restaurants and Marina walking distance. The massage place in front of the hotel is nice too. Things that could be better: USB plugs in my room didn’t work, a bit of unpleasant smell from the drain in the shower."

"Easy place to stay from check-in to check out. $24/ person airport shuttle was easy to set up when we checked in. Room and common areas were very clean and well maintained. The staff at Solmar were so gracious and helpful to someone like me that doesn’t speak Spanish. Housekeeping did a great job as well! This vibe at Solmar was very chill. The upper pool was virtually silent all day. The main pool area was calm and inviting. The swim up bar had great drinks and the house music playing was just the right volume to enjoy but not interrupt a conversation. If you are looking for the club vibe this is not for you. This place is for relaxing and enjoying time with your friend or spouse. The room had a regular size fridge that wasn’t in the pictures so it was a nice surprise. Easy walk to town. Very nice walking on the beach at sunset. The water is rough so don’t plan on swimming in the ocean but the pools are great! There were only 2 small negatives we had. 1. Our air conditioning didn’t get the room as cool as we like. (It did take the edge off the heat when the blackout blinds were pulled though). 2. The sliding glass door rattled when the wind blew or the waves crashed really hard. (I was able to dull it with some tissue between the 2 panels though). Other than that it was a great place and we will stay here again for sure."

"Disappointed in this hotel, the amenities and the restaurants is not what I expected, the only good experience I had was in OCOTE , I HAD Great service there and the experience was beautiful. Bites was so disappointing the first night they had no Arachera / beef , we ordered with time and then at last thet said the kitchen switched to lunch and we couldn't order nothing no more. 2nd night it was the same thing here. And the fish nets took forever for our food and it was completely empty, the resort was not even 50% capacity and the service was slow. The amenities end so early so it's like a ghost town after 11 the shows should last at least a bit longer. The fire show was good other than that everything ends early service is slow and restaurants are very strict other resorts I have stayed at have always tried to make us feel at home and helped our meals in every way here they didn't. Don't think I'll come back"

"The property is aesthetically pleasing! The room was completely comfortable. We purchased the all the inclusive daily breakfast buffet however, bottled water was not included in the price. The issue was instead of offering the regular bottled water you had to purchase a more expensive bottle which seemed a little ridiculously priced and service was pretty slow but the food was always tasty. I will definitely return!!"

"We had an amazing experience! The only negative was some of the smaller food options ran out of supplies. They had promised we would be picked up at the airport, but nobody showed up. Then they changed their deal and said it wasn’t included after telling me originally it was. That being said, I would absolutely stay at this property again! Loved it!"
