The garden has lovely views - a picnic table is provided but I suggest taking your own camping chairs for more comfy, longer term seating. "The only factor in favour for the hotel is the history and the period property. It needs sprucing up the exterior and somewhat the interior. Room can get hot despite not south face. Breakfast was too slow and so we left without having the main item , 40 minutes after entering.They wrote that breakfast is leisurely but it could be putting a spin on the low staffing.Reception personnel are not quite welcoming or service like.."

"Room was much bigger than expected (possibly an upgrade) and seemed to have been recently renovated. Spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was included although my invoice stated room only. Apparently all rooms here include breakfast which was very good. Highlight really was the friendliness of staff which is probably because it’s an independent property and they genuinely want to make guests feel welcome. "

"This was in a great location but unfortunately the lift had broken a month before we arrived and no one informed us. We found walking up 5 flights of stairs not the easiest and wish we had been informed. The air conditioning didn’t work either though we did have a fan. The heat in the room was overbearing."

"Loved our stay and so did our dog, especially the doggie sausage for breakfast! I made full use of the swimming pool and hot tub and had it to myself. Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will come back."
