"The service was amazing; however most restaurants were closed and the beaches were covered in mounds of seaweed. As such, we couldn’t enjoy the beaches or the ocean. Some of this was seasonal, but we were never notified of the limitations and reduced amenities. We couldn’t even book many of the excursions due to the seaweed and oceans. Additionally, several areas and amenities were under construction with no notification."

"We had our first family holiday here and got engaged. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond for us and made the engagement so special. The quality of the food in the restaurants is truely exceptional and we were blown away by the kindness of all of the staff. Truely not one complaint. We went to a 5* hotel in playacar for the last 5 nights just for a change of scenery and wish we had just stayed here as the service did not compare!"

"Personal de meseros barmans te atienden horrible, se enojan si les pides algo, se desaparecen hasta 20 minutos, nos niegan el servicio y tuercen la boca cuando les pides algo.

"Unfortunately, our 4-night stay at Playa Canek Beachfront Eco Hotel was very disappointing and far below expectations. We understand this is an eco-style property, but many of the issues were related to cleanliness, maintenance, and basic guest comfort — not the eco concept.
When we checked in, the suite was extremely hot and muggy. The downstairs area felt dirty, the bedding appeared unclean, and the bathroom was in poor condition. One sink did not work, the other had very low water pressure,...

"A beautiful place, very quiet and peaceful, not like the huge resorts further along the coastline. It is quite simple, with a small pool and two small places to eat. The only unfortunate thing was the seaweed, but there is nothing to do about that. They try to clean it up but it is way too much. But the hotel itself is great, we loved our stay!"
