"Contemporary rooms, simple but clean all modern amenities. Staff friendly. This hotel offers a three course meal £25 per person which sounded good as we had the theatre booked and my mother has poor mobility so it made sense to take the offer but the meal has to be paid up front when checking in and you are not informed what this meal is. We booked the meal at 5pm there was confusion in the bar area as the reservation was for 2 people but it was down for 5 people. There were only 3 tables occupied in the whole restaurant including ours. We were informed the 3 course menu deal was the chefs choice. Which we queried as we may not like the choice and wern’t actually given a choice. The soup to start was cauliflower which was obviously left overs puréed in Luke warm water and resembled mush which seperated from the water and tasted off. We did not eat this, we had a choice of burger or sandwich from a paper lunch menu, followed by a desert. The Angus beef burger was burnt & the chicken burger was a piece of chicken breast covered in a sauce ill fitting between a burger bun. The ice cream and chocolate torte was palatable. Noted is that other diners complained or left food and the dining room floor and restaurant toilet's needed cleaning . This was most disappointing as the hotel itself is nice and staff aimiable. Breakfast was better more staff on in uniform and attentive. On the whole we would stay again but would not have an evening meal in the restaurant."
