"Hotel Laxa is located by lake myvatn, a little further away from all the farmhouses which puts in a quiet location with views all round of Myvatn and still convenient. The staff at hotel are extremely helpful and friendly. They have a nice bar with quiet places for work and a game room as well. I stayed for 3 nights and loved it, and would highly recommend."

"While there was no air conditioning and it was hot, each room had a fan. Worked great! The bed and bedding was comfy. The breakfast was included and fabulous - one of the best we had in iceland. They refilled everything constantly. So many choices. The location is perfect. It was not noisy which surprised us. They have a great bar with a happy hour and indoor or outdoor seating. Definitely would recommend."

"Pleasantly surprised by this place. The staff was super helpful. I had a late check-in and wanted to get some dinner before everything closes. The front desk staff helped me ask the hotel restaurant to hold a spot while I get ready. I cannot overstate how helpful this was. (You'll find this super helpful when travelling through Iceland!). The hotel room was large - much larger than rooms in any comparably priced hotel in Iceland and in much of Europe. The facility and the rooms are updated, clean, and functional.
