"The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring all the attractions, shops and restaurants in the city centre. It was very clean, the room was perfect for us and the bathroom was spotless and well maintained. The shower was good. "Beach view from room was stunning, but windows desperatley needed cleaning. Lots of tea and coffee which can easily be replenished at reception (staff were much better this time!) ; rooms aren't tidied unless you request it, which I really liked as you're not disturbed. Location is fantastic, over 100 steps down to the beach but there is a public lift for about £1:50 return, or a number 2 bus every hour which drops you outside the hotel from the sea-front. "This is the best hotel I've stayed in in York and I've stayed in quite a few. Great front desk service, gorgeous decor, lovely room - great decor, comfy bed, lush pillows, nice lighting, powerful shower, blackout curtains, functioning air con / fan / heating system. The school parking is less than 100m walk from the front desk so is no bother to use. Easy access to city centre by uber, walk or bus. Will stay again."

"We were met after a long drive by the manager Chris who was absolutely fantastic! He was so friendly and made a big fuss of our daughters who loved him!
