"The hotel was fine but broken reading light (reported but no action), paper ordered but then forgotten, buggy often late. On first night no information about the buggies - choice between steep steps or so called “ramp”which was a lounge winding and very steep path. With heart condition very difficult. Room in Oakham faced blank wall - should have been warned. Universally nice staff but overall a bit lackadaisical."

"For some reason we were put in a accessibility room. The bar was nice but the barman could have done with waking up a bit. Had a bar snack which was served with luke warm chips. I don't know how they can charge 6.25 for a pint but charge 3.20 for a half. Shouldn't it be half the price of a pint "

"The hotel is in the middle of Leicester and does NOT have the parking they claim to have so nowhere to park. Room handles and floor were sticky and bathroom had no heating so was like an ice box. As an experienced traveller I always request a quiet room and I was on the first floor at the back of the hotel. Traffic and general noise was high and the noisiest bin men in the Country crashed around at 600am having loud conversations with hotel staff. This is the 15th hotel I have stayed in this...

"Had a nice night. Bed was comfortable and room quiet. Restaurant served good food at reasonable prices. Breakfast was really nice, i had veggie cooked breakfast. Extremely good value. The staff were great, polite and helpful. I would recommend The Belmont if staying in Leicester. It has parking included free and within walking didtance of the University and O2 Academy if you intend going to a concert there or nearby. I would certainly stay there again. Thank you to the staff there."

"Breakfast was good, but the black lady at breakfast was extremely rude to our family. She said and I quote "your kids need to wear clothes to breakfast and they will not be allowed tomorrow to have breakfast if they don't wear clothes" to make things clear, my children were wearing onsies and she had an issue with it. The next day another lady was doing the job and she was lovely to us. The funny thing was that we spotted a huge American group of girls who were ALL wearing pyjamas and nobody...

"We didn’t use the spa. I think the property could do with a bit of updating in terms of decor but for what we needed, the hotel was perfectly adequate."

"Breakfast was not good. Only 2 pieces of bacon left and 1 hash brown. Also was never told they charge you an extra £20 for checking in before 3pm. Luckily the receptionist did have a room ready so gave it to me without charging. This is something to look out for."

"Lovely hotel, attentive and friendly staff. Room was clean and very comfortable. We had the family suite which was amazing. Lacked coathangers but other than that it was fantastic. Breakfast was gorgeous and we ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others."

"Booked a superior room for a visiting business manager Mon-Fri On Weds I was told that his room hadn't been cleaned since he arrived. Shower had to run for upto 10mins before any hot water came through"
