"I always stay at the James Cook when I come to Wellington. It’s constantly good. The location is fantastic and staff very helpful. The buffet breakfast is excellent too, as is the room service food. I can’t fault this hotel."

"Apart from the obscure way to access to the main street bia a carpark then the carpark lift which I wouldn’t attempt at night on my own this was a good location and met our desired need of having a washer and dryer for our last stop on our road trip over to Queenstown."

"An excellent place to stay in the capital city. Its location is ideal for getting to most other attractions in the city and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants close by, all within walking distance and the Harbourside walkway is only a few minutes’s walk away. "Uncomfortable bed. Room had plenty of space for a couch which would have been better than the chair in the corner. Terrible bathroom setup ensured water leaked over the floor where you step into the bathroom. Average stay for the price."

"If you are 20 and looking for a place to store your stuff while you are partying in Wgtn, this place is perfect. If you want to sleep or be somewhere hygienic this is not the place for you. The walls are paper thin to the point you can hear people’s individual conversations. All night long. The security light in the hallway does not turn off and will shine through the cracks in your door so that it is never completely dark. The kitchen is filthy and I would not prepare my food there if you paid...
