"Staff was spectacular, I'm so sorry they have to deal with less than delightful guests on what seems like a regular basis. We greatly appreciate you and enjoyed our gift of champagne. Area is very walkable, bed is on the softer side of Japans hotel beds. Our room was big enough and it was one of the smaller ones. There is a smoking room by the elevator that opens frequently so there is some cigarette smell when you go to the lobby. I do wish there was some food options though, Takayama...

"Great views, convenient shuttle and not far from the centre by taxi if you miss the shuttle. Friendly staff. Old fashioned but clean and charming. Would recommend."

"Big onsen hotel with comfortable, spacious rooms and two onsens to choose from. The location is convenient to Takayama train station and the main city sights. We ate one meal in the hotel restaurants, though was much more pricey than local options. Bite you note to make dinner reservations here as well as might be advised to do for restaurants in town if you have particular places you want to try."
