If you like to walk there are many good places to eat nearby. The only draw back is that the town has only 2 taxis so it might be best to rent a car. Loved the restaurant Hachiya within walking distance. He only takes reservations.

Joga Kebo
The vintage house becomes a deluxe hotel-styled accommodation. Excellent facilities, very clean, excellent location. Feeling of living in the history.

Residence Hotel Takayama Station
Everything is good as always be. Since we arrived the front is very polite and helpful. The room is spacious with kitchen and washing machine+cube. The bed is comfy.
