"The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, we didnt eat in the hotel so cant comment on the food, but looking at the menu it was pretty limited "

"Absolutely could not fault the staff. The room was clean and we enjoyed being close to York St John University and the shopping hub of the city centre. The food was okay although at breakfast there was sometimes bits missing or run out- no hot water for tea, run out of sausages, etc…. The staff were very attentive and the little texts to check in on us during our stay were lovely. "

"We have to say a big thank you, as we found the Minster Hotel spot on! It is a great, well appointed, family run hotel, with lovely, attentive staff. The room was super, clean and spacious and it offered us a great sleep. It being very quiet, and the bed nice and comfy. Breakfast is excellent too, with lots of choice, perfectly cooked, hot and wonderfully tasty.. all served by a great staff team, who are literally a well oiled machine. "Staff were really helpful. I have a gluten and dairy intolerance and as soon as i arrived they sorted me alternate milk for a cup of tea and explained breakfast options to help me. Room clean and quiet and all staff, wven those we passed in the hall ways said hello"

"Lovely stay, huge room for family of 4, good car park and nice breakfast "

"Was disappointed to find that there was no available gym in the hotel, even though it is advertised as such. The sofa bed in the room was broken, as was the air-conditioning. Staff attempted to fix it but didn’t make a difference. When we visited, there was a pile of mattresses sitting in the lobby. Surely there’s a better way to manage this. We shared our complaints with staff at the hotel but they showed little interest so I hope management will take note "

"Overall, a lovely stay. Two quibbles: 1. Having to pay for parking at £17 per night when you're already paying £200+ for a room 2. The shape of the sinks in the room don't lend themselves to anything in them going down the plug hole e.g. spit, toothpaste and shaving detritus."
