"Free parking and views of lake from the dining room were very good.
Half board - the dinner was good but overpriced so the 10% service charge worked out extortionate. NOT GOOD
We were put in a small loft room with a difficult door to open and a tight stair access- the room and whole property needs a lick of paint and could be cleaner.
Location too far from bowness - walking into town is 20minutes but on both roads which had no pavement so very dangerous.
Wouldn’t stay here again ."

"The hotel is ok but there are some important things to know before booking. Both parking and the swimming pool are an additional charge (£10 & £15 a day respectively) and, whilst the hotel is said to be family friendly, there is no children’s menu, the pool only allows children in it between 8 am and 11 am and there’s really nothing for children to do apart from the pool.
The staff are very helpful and friendly."

"All was great, except we thought we had paid for an upgraded room. While it did have a balcony, it overlooked the parking lot rather than the village, with a tight configuration at the window. One staff member was particularly helpful, giving us great advice on hikes."

"The staff are the making of this hotel - excellent - only problem we encountered was ordering for evening meal as we sat at our table for 45 minutes before we were told that we had to order at the bar - would suggest a notation on the menu would resolve this.
All in all, a very enjoyable stay."

"Smashing location - nice accommodation, don't be put off by the somewhat weathered exterior of the building. Clean and comfortable room, OK breakfast, nice evening meal, though note that if you book dinner the drink they offer you is NOT included, which only became clear at checkout! Great location, competitive price, nice grounds. Dog friendly. Pleasant and helpful staff, though a very small team"
