"The George Inn was an excellent choice for our first night in England, due to its proximity to Stonehenge and the reasonable cost. All staff were attentive and helpful. We enjoyed a late afternoon walk on the country lanes of Middle Wallop. I want to mention a few things that did not bother us but may matter to other potential guests: - Room ("the family room"): because it was directly above the pub, we could hear music clearly through the floor until the pub closed. "Easy check in and the hostess was friendly and helpful. The room had pretty much anything you could wish for in it. Very well equipped room, lovely linen and a super comfy bed with different firmness of pillows. Nespresso machine, mini fridge, DAB radio, large TV, Dyson fan, Iron, Hairdrier, all great! Checkout was easy the next day. Just a shame we couldn’t have stayed for longer and made better use of everything. Many thanks! "

"This hotel is as wonderful as they say. Absolutely beautiful. The restaurant is delicious and has the best coffee. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I cannot say enough good. We stayed here for 1 night, pre cruise out of Southampton. It was only a 30 minute taxi ride to port. Romsey is a small (1,000 people) town, the prettiest little English town you'll ever see. I wish we could have stayed longer. Not touristy and easy to navigate. One of those "out of the way" " off...

"We stayed in the Apartment. It slept 6, but there were 3 of us, so plenty of space. 2 bathrooms . No elevator , but only a couple of flights . No breakfast, but we ate breakfast at the Garden Center , 5 minutes drive away. Great place !Lodge location was ok. Obviously one would be driving to the Lodge . But an easy place to fine and easy access into Salisbury. Next door to the New Forest Lodge was an Indian Restaurant. We didn’t try it as we had eaten at a super restaurant in Salisbury. ...

"Lovely hotel, had a few problems with the spa but was quickly rectified with kindness and courtesy "

"The warm welcome from Dennis and Sarah made us very welcome, nothing to much trouble. Catch word was no problem. Part way through our stay was a change of chef by name of Tom although a young man served us well with good food. Also to Sarah's Grandson Keon who helped keep the tables and the fetching and carrying for the main staff. All in all our stay was vey good. Will come again. Well recomending The Old Railway Hotel Porton"

"We had a lovely stay here. Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Upon arrival we had to wait for our room to be ready and had a drink in the garden which was so peaceful. Our room was very spacious and we had alot of space to put our clothes away, the bed was nice but it was two beds put together and it was very clear, but nothing major still had the best sleep. The shower was amazing great water pressure and good temperature. "
