"I didn't end up staying at the accommodation. The listing on Expedia and the name of the room made it sound like this room was in a multi-unit hotel type accommodation. "Parking was good. The air conditioning cooled but was loud and blew on us in the bed. The rooms could use blackout curtains. "

"It's one of the best priced properties available. That being said, it's an older building with older furnishings and an older bathroom and kitchen. Everything worked fine, but it won't be either fancy or modern."

"The Gables is a magnificent 19th century building. The owners have done a great job of decorating and restoring to reflect the period of the home. My wife has dietary restrictions, and the staff fully accommodated her. Breakfast is served at eight, but Cesar gladly fed us at 6:30 so we could catch a flight. "This property was terrific! We were there for the sad event of a funeral, so for only one night, but it was clean, convenient, good breakfast options, friendly staff -- everything. (Made a difficult trip a little easier.)"

"Front staff apathetic. The grounds were great, hotel breakfast was fine. The shower needs help in the handicap bathroom in the room we stayed in. Water everywhere. And the shampoo and conditioner where in the wrong bottles"

"so check in was a mess as they would not let my wife check in without me as her name was not also on the reservation. i understand there are security issues but I assured the front desk she was my wife and i was authorizing her to get a key. I was asked to call central reservations but they were useless and could not help me as the reservation was made through expedia. I was able to get expedia to add the name and the hotel eventually let her in. but should not have been so difficult for my wife...

"This is a wonderful place to stay for the weekend. We stayed only one night and if needed we could have stayed long. Next time we are in Philly we will absolutely stay there again. It’s no frills but doesn’t need to be!"

"The property was amazing, amenities were wonderful although our stay was short so we didn’t get to utilize all of them. Only issue we had was with some of the door hardware, but we didn’t notice it until right before we left and we brought it to their attention and they were having someone look at it right after we left. All in all, I’d definitely go back!"
