"The inn was okay and the staff were nice. Couldn’t sleep though which is the point of a hotel. Had a road facing room and could hear every single car as it sped by. Torture. The shower was also maybe the worst I’ve had in the last 5 years of constant travel. Felt like someone held a pinched hose over me and there was no water pressure at off peak shower times. "

"We had a really enjoyable stay at Townend Farm and Julie was extremely helpful booking a meal at the Tiger Inn and also giving us information about local bus services The breakfast was a really good standard and cooked perfectly . Our only concern was that the rooms were on the second floor with steep staircases which made it difficult to carry suitcases and to access the rooms.Perhaps it might be worth pointing out on the website Thankyou Julie for a lovely stay "

"Our stay was somewhat disappointing. The bed was too small for two people and not long enough, making it uncomfortable to sleep. We were assigned a disabled-access room, and unfortunately, the bathroom and toilet had a noticeable smell of urine. Breakfast was adequate but limited in variety. The poached eggs were undercooked, and the bacon was not crispy. I also observed that some wait staff handled food without gloves — for example, placing croissants in baskets or touching bread directly...

"Quirky decor, comfortable room with great facilities. Breakfast was excellent, great choice, cooked to order and filled us up all day! Had sandwiches off lunch menu which were great value for money. Also ate in the restaurant at night, brilliant service and superb food. Hotel very convenient for walking to beach. Would highly recommend walking along the valley, lovely scenery. Just one small negative, our room overlooked hotel carpark and small narrow lane. The lane was used for deliveries and...

"We stay here regularly whilst visiting family. I love it because everyone is very friendly, the beds are super comfy and there is a bath in the bathroom. It's walking distance into town even after a few drinks in the very reasonably priced bar! It's dog friendly too. Big carpark and surprisingly quiet after the bar closes. Usually football on the TV in the bar which keeps my husband happy (depending on play...) 😅 The Highfield is always our first choice when planning to come to Boro."
