"Wow - we were blown away by this feast for the eyes! I fully appreciate that the decor at the hotel won’t appeal to everyone (art is after all subjective) but, as a photographer myself and with my art loving husband, we found our two night stay here to be a fitting and beautiful end to our three week tour of the North! "Lovely hotel though a bit like a rabbit warren inside but a great mix of old and new. The best part is the staff - they are just SO friendly, helpful but very professional. On our first evening, as we sat in the lounge, we were approached by an elderly gentleman who enquired how long we were staying and where we had come from etc. We asked him how long had he been staying there and as he walked off he replied "98 years".
