"The staff were all very helpful and a pleasure. We are from the US and speak English and communication was very good. It is an old renovated palace that didn't feel old but gave you the feel of being in Spain. We stayed in the suite which is on the 4th floor and accessed on the rooftop. If you walk around the rooftop you will see some city views but it was hard to see down to the city streets. The suite was very nice, updated and clean. It is 2 levels. On the main level is a living area (with TV) and bathroom. The bathroom was updated with a big shower. There are narrow stairs that go up to the bedroom where there is a king size bed and a 2nd tv. Our only disappointment was there were no good views of the city or city streets from the suite and also having the bathroom on a different level than the bedroom for getting up at night. The location for the hotel was excellent. The street the hotel is on is a bustling pedestrian-only avenue (some local cars and taxi's do venture down.) You are within minutes walking distance to the Plaza Catalunya (w/ Metro) and the Gothic Quarter with tons of restaurants and shopping."

"I booked the room late that night on Expedia because I decided to stay in Barcelona through the night and explore the gothic area a little bit more the next day. I arrived at around 11pm and found out that the room was full of ants in the night table and coffee area. I called the reception desk and they took a really long time to come up to the room. When they finally came up I was on a business call with USA ( -6 hours) and the attendant arrived with a huge vacuum. I asked them to come back later because I was in a business call. They never came back. I had to sleep with the ants near the bed and got biten. I chatted with Expedia customer help and they said they offered a room change which they never did offered me that option."

"Our stay at this hotel was disappointing. While the hotel is situated in a good, walkable location (close to Rambla and the beach), the rooms are much smaller than they appear in the pictures. Our double room featured two single beds pushed together (instead of a Queen), and the walls wrapped so tightly around them, that you couldn’t walk around the beds without being squeezed, needless to say lay down a suitcase on the floor. Our room was claustrophobic, with no windows and a low ceiling - it felt like a tomb and was uncomfortable to stay in. And that was at $350/ night! We would not recommend this hotel for its poor value. There are many better options at this price level around Barcelona."
