"A pet friendly hotel with friendly staffunder recent new ownership. Staff friendly and approachable. Room 8 clean but a problem with the bathroom light switch which staff knew about. I will revisit if in the area again. "

"The staff there was really lovely The room we stayed in was not really kept well and the upkeep was a bit poor and it was not the cleanest. The breakfast was nice it was a breakfast buffet next door. The gym was small but decent for a workout The pool sauna and jacuzzi was amazing, steam room wasn’t working when I went though or was not set up "

"The room wasn’t bad, and nothing was inherently bad. It was relatively clean. Although, the bath panel was off, the room smelt damp, there was no hot water, the bath mat was mouldy. "

"The bed I had was harder than I’m used to so that was a bit of a let down. As for breakfast it was help yourself. Fine for things like cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice and toast, but not for cooked food. That should be cooked to order not put out and kept warm for an hour or two. The eggs were really tough."

"The room was clean and very compact, it lacked appeal but had most of the amenities you would want at this price. There is no interaction with staff at all as self check in, the heating wasn’t on although the radiator in the hall was hot, one curtain hardly covered the window, my room,2, was at the front of the property so people leaving the pub were talking loudly at 11.30/12pm and then again at 1am which woke me up, the shower was good, the wash basin so tiny you couldn’t get the tiny kettle...

"The room was okay. Though to be fair clean. The beds were a tad uncomfortable. The bed had a ridge at the side so probably needs a new matress. The pillars were cheap. One was too low and two were too high. The breakfast was of a reasonable standard. Though I doubt whether the sausages were Welsh sausages. Probably cheap sausages from wholesale suppliers. "Extremely spacious and well equipped with one exception, given the unusually warm weather—no AC, some fans, and no screens on windows that do open. The garden has a knockout location right on the river and some rooms also have this gorgeous view, including the huge bathroom with freestanding tub. There are however a lot of stairs. Kitchen is on lowest floor. Entry and dining and parlor are on street level, and there is no bathroom on that floor. So it’s a trek from kitchen to loo. The top floor...

"Couldn't comment on staff because we didn't see any. But saying that the room was clean, bed comfortable and adequate supplies. Excellent shower and wash facilities. Handy for Chirk Castle and British Ironworks Park. "
