"Country hotel with plenty of outdoor seating in pleasant garden. Very clean and staff friendly and professional. Breakfast was good. Our room was nice and quiet with comfy bed. Plenty of parking. We used the hotel as a base to explore villages and towns. Will be quite happy to stay there again."

"I stayed one night in a double room. The downstairs of this hotel is OK, I arrived early (2pm) and it took me a while to find someone to ask if I could check in early. I couldn't so went off for a walk round the town (which is v nice).
My room (40) was small, tbe bedroom window opened about 6 inches (not ideal in a heatwave in a room with no aircon), the bathroom was tired, mouldy grout and a mouldy shower curtain. The bed was very firm, a bit too firm for me.

"Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future! "
