"1) Even though our dog is very well behaved they insisted that he is not left unattended. This meant that we could not go out for meals and drinks. This policy is OTT. 2) Even though Grasmere is prime walking country, they would not swap my paid-for breakfast for a packed lunch. I thus had to go without. 3) Ended up paying for parking since their parking is limited to 7 cars. 4) They placed us in an annex with very noisy people upstairs; didn't sleep well. All of the above spoilt our enjoyment of this høtel."

"The room was ideal, clean and facilities great. The breakfast we had was a buffet style and was excellent,the area was well stocked. Afternoon and evening food was also of good quality as was the bar selection. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and dealt with any help we required. I would definetly stay in this Hotel again. "Excellent hotel with a wonderful view of the mountains and the nature around, our window have a view of both and including a cow's pasture. Their installations are very cozy, well equipped and all the amenities you can need. They serve a great and delicious selection of breakfast options, all fresh made by them and locally sourced. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the hotel offers a dry room for shoes and jackets (extremely useful after a wet day of hiking). Their location is around 20min walk from Ambleside or around 7min walk from the nearest bus stop. Regardind their installations, our bedroom had a extremely comfortable bed/sheets, two armchairs, tea/coffee and chocolate to enjoy and also a mini fridge. It also had a big TV and DVD player with their own dvd collection (a good catch during the Saturday storm we got). The bathroom has a delightful bathtub and shower and excellent towels. We definitely would stay again at this hotel and do recommend them for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area, especially consider they offer everything you need to get a full recover of a day full of hiking and be prepared for the next day out in the beautiful nature around.
