"A very pleasant stay at “The Carps”. Very pleasant, helpful, friendly staff. The room was very pleasant with a comfortable bed and roomy shower room. The room layout reflects the history of the property with a couple of shallow steps between the bedroom and shower. We stayed for dinner and were rewarded by a tasty meal. "The service of the staff was excellent and car parking is free. However, the plug sockets next to the bed required moving the bedside tables, so if you want to use any electrical devices whilst in bed, you had to use the sockets across the room. The toilet positioned in the room were too close to the wall and the handles to open the windows were loose and call fall out anytime. "

"There was a nice welcome as we arrived. We had booked dinner for a later time but was able to be seated early. The food was very good with a good choice in the menu. The room was large and had all the required facilities. "

"Room was pleasant but was not serviced on second day. Cooked breakfast was reasonable but there was no cereal to start with nor toast and jam to follow. One cup of cofee only which was served 30 minutes before the cooked meal arrived on the second day. Mains were good but starters and sweet menu was limited and fairly expensive. Overall we were not unhappy but would not have wanted to stay for a third night and would be question if we would use this chain again if this is typical of all their...

"Nice room in a traditional pub, but it didn’t have space for a chair or even a luggage rack. You have to put your luggage on the bed to unpack and then sit on the bed to drink tea and eat the continental breakfast. The shower was good with lots of hot water. The bed and pillows weren’t great. The noise from the pub is very noticeable, keeping us awake until 1:45 am on a Friday night.
