"Clean room and perfect as a base whilst I attended a course locally. Staff were friendly and food was good value for money. Would definitely stay again in the future."
"Very well presented hotel, great decor, lots of space in communal spaces, security lifts, large well lit rooms, very comfy beds, double size shower in a large bathroom, good location for city, simple to use aircon
Bedroom windows a liitle on the small side, not much flat clothes storage"
"A lovely welcome from the lady on reception and super helpful.
The room was spacious with everything you need and we had a lovely view across the river.
Only downside was the bathroom. The shower was very old and you needed to run it for quite a while before it ran hot, wasting a lot of water.
I would stay again"
"Excellent attentive staff in every area of hotel.
I stay there regularly when visiting friends and family and my only two beefs are that the elevators seem very slow and the rooms themselves do not have enough lighting.
The beds are super comfortable and rooms are very clean. The bathrooms are huge but would be nice to have face cloths again but I am noticing a trend internationally regarding this!
Great for parking and public transport is very handy if needed.
I will be staying there again."
"On the plus, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and well maintained and nicely furnished. The double bedroom with sofa bed I booked turned out to be a 2 double bedroom suite with a lounge with double sofa bed which was a wonderful surprise for myself and my 2 children and superb value. All the rooms had tvs and the bedrooms both had good tea / coffee facilities. The breakfast was also excellent - self service buffet with croissants, juice, cereals and good choice of hot freshly cooked breakfast.
On the negative, as stated on website, the rooms are not air conditioned. We stayed during the heatwave. It was very hot. The receptionist was very helpful and gave me a powerful fan so I managed to get a good nights sleep. Our suite was in the main block next to the road. The hotel itself was very quiet. My bedroom was at the back overlooking the car park and reasonably quiet, the fan blocked out any noise. However, my children slept in the front bedroom & lounge/sofa bed next to the road. It was incredibly noisy all night. Tiredness and ear plugs helped. There is another accommodation block behind the car park so request that for a quieter stay. We were visiting the university so all the hotels were fully booked.
Overall, for the spacious suite, cleanliness, helpful staff and breakfast, we thought this hotel should be 4 star not 3 star. But ask for a room away from the road otherwise it’s very noisy."
"Clean room but terrible view. I got to look out onto a roof. How exciting. Wi-Fi was pretty much non existent in my room. I think they put me in a dud area of the hotel. Breakfast was your typically English style and there were some good options to choose from. Just steps away from central station which is nice and convenient."
