Staff is friendly but just slow with check in and check out since there’s only a few people working there. You can kayak in the river. Breakfast and dinner was awesome. "William was so helpful and happy to work with us if we needed anything. I really don't think he could be nicer :) The food was good, the rooms were clean and if anything came up that needed attention he took care of it immediately. "Guatape is a gorgeous little town, and La Madriguera is a peaceful place to stay, with splendid views and warm service. You can easily walk to the center. A tuktuk from the square up the hill is 4000 COP ($1.10). Be sure to book a room with balcony. Beds are firm, sheets so soft. And the attached restaurant is simple but marvelous. "We kept to ourselves because we didn't realize there was a shared common room upstairs, however we realized as well that it wasn't open all the time since I think the owners prefer to be home, which makes sense!
