"Positives: We initially booked a flight and accommodation package through Wotif but upgraded the second half of our 8 day stay to the water chalet. Both areas were beautiful and unique, but the water chalet was truely sublime. Too bad you can't jump into the sea from your room. Or any of the water chalets for that matter. Staff were excellent, always courteous and very friendly. Free shuttle was fantastic and prompt. Drivers were safe and skilled. Negatives: Need to pay extra for all other hire activities that should be free given the expense of the room: canoe, body board, pool toys, pool table, table soccer, fishing rod. Not resort related, but also be aware when you book tours, you need to pay for additional activities (canoe, life jackets, snorkels, toilet, everything else that isn't the tour). Eg: if you booked a snorkeling tour this won't include lifejacket hire for swimming, snorkels, beach lounge/shade, etc. It was explained differently to us but when you check in, you will need to pay additional tax per day of stay, but also a RM700 deposit. Money isn't taken out at this point but it's used as a room tab. The final amount will be deducted from your credit card at the end of your stay plus any owing. Refunds of unused deposit may take up to 1 month - which is strange as the money isn't taken out initially. All in all a restorative and luxurious island vacation. Great for couples and families. "

"Fantastic 5 night stay at The St Regis Langkawi! From pre-arrival contact with their butler service to departure drop off with one of their drivers at the airport our stay was wonderful, free from worry and truly relaxing. Having the butler service contact via WhatsApp was extremely helpful for assistance booking dinner reservations, spa treatments, transportation etc. Every member of staff that I encountered was so kind and friendly and seemed to love their jobs and cared about creating special memories for the guests. The staff go out of their way to talk to you to ensure your stay is exceptional and to get genuine feedback from you too. The breakfast offering is probably one of the best I’ve ever had, large variety of options and everything is super fresh. During our stay we dined at all of their restaurants and although Kayaputi was a special culinary highlight it was wonderful to dine under the stars at the Pantai Grill, amazing meats and fish cooked over charcoal. The service and care at L’Orangerie must be noted and again great food and optionality. I had two treatments at the spa, super relaxing, plenty of treatment options but it would have been great if there were steam and sauna facilities too. Thank you for a lovely stay and we hope to visit again soon. "

"Room was spacious and comfortable. Clean, very friendly staff, very nice restaurants and swimming pool. Hotel has convenient location nearby Langkawi airport close to markets, restaurants and beaches. Food in the hotel is excellent, buffet breakfast and buffet dinners. Christmas and New Year's parties were very nicely organized with excellent food. Altogether, we are very satisfied with hotel and can highly recommend it for visitors to Langkawi. "
