Sweet family homestay in great area of ayutthaya - near the river. They’re no longer doing food but plenty of eating options nearby. It’s not right by the historic centre but easy enough to get there.
expensive and underwhelming for what it is - we booked two rooms in the property on the basis of the images promoted on the website and were very disappointed when we arrived and the rooms were like cells - padlock on door to enter - the air conditioner only worked sporadically so a sweat room to sleep in..also thin walls so very noisy. The shower water in the bathroom ran directly into the bathroom floor - flooding the toilet area until it was able to very slowly drain..
Friendly and sufficient hotel. The staff was wonderful. I needed help getting sick, they took me to the hospital, they accompanied me all the time, they took care of me gently. Deep gratitude.
This is a very nice authentic hotel, the lounge area is amazing with the jungle at the front. The room was clean, stylish and well equipped.

Mosquito heaven
Expectations not met. Lush gardens. Dining area very dark and airless without the fans. A breeding ground for mosquitoes. Food expensive for what it was, especially the spring roll starter which was heavily sold.

The Baifern was a quaint little house, comfortable enough but basic, only concern for me was a lot of mosquitos, the staff were great in providing mosquito coils and such, also helps to be a lover of cats, they have half a dozen of their own floating around....
Good location, close to all the main sightseeing attractions, very helpful and friendly staff, cosy house and... Cats 😃😃😃 and dogs. Excellent value for the money, i can recommend it
Family run with personal care and attention that really show. Highly recommended

Quaint but not peaceful
Nice setup but not very peaceful. Too noisy, cats, dogs etc. Breakfast was terrible. Good location, ok for one night, would not recommend for longer stay.
Absolutely beautiful property with exceptional care to the grounds. Room was bright and sunny and staff was helpful and welcoming. The general area was a little run down, but taxis available.
The hotel is like an oasis in the town. The facilities are basic but very satisfactory. The beds are very comfortable and the wifii is more than adequate. The breakfast was varied and also satisfactory.
I would stay there again if I return to Ayutthaya.
Very clean, large room for the price and secluded from the noise of Maenamkwai Road. Run by a family, who were very accommodating and helped to arrange onward travel.
The only comment would be that we were provided with only a simple sheet for our bed. In an air conditioned room, which is a must, this is not enough.

Good location
The location is near the river and also accessible to some nearby ancient temple complexes. However I was disappointed with the room quality and bathroom facilities. I would not stay here again.
There are 2 room types..ones in the old teak house that feature on their listing and another cheap concrete block out the back that must be 20 plus years old. Thought we had booked the nice room but seems not. So we pay an expensive price for a very basic room. Location is poorer neighbourhood and barking dogs make for a poor night's sleep. Nice garden area and good breakfast. There are certainly much better value places to be found.
We were made very welcome when we arrived. The room was spacious and looked clean. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before which was bizzare. It was nice but not a lot to fill up on for the day. We had omelette with fruit and toast.
The eating area was always humid, it's all open but will trap the heat. As there is a lot of garden there is about a million mosquitoes about. I had 13 bites when I counted. Even with spray.
The food at night is lovely but they don't start until 7.
You can walk 5 mins round the corner for street food which we did. They also have the sugar pancakes which are amazing.
The owner woman was friendly on the first day and talked a lot but the following day she seemed to ignore us. I think it's because they kept asking us if we wanted a thai massage and I wasn't really bothered to be honest. It was their home and they kept asking us to have one and go on trips. But we turned them all down. We were friendly though.
I probably wouldn't stay again. I like my comforts but it's ok for a few days. Location is great though.
Tasty breakfast of muesli and fruit or egg options. No ac except in rooms. Quiet area on edge of Historic Park meaning easy to cycle anywhere from here. Excellent bar restaurant on the river in a 100m walk but I've forgotten its name. There are a few on that side of the road past the very posh Sala.

Affordable stay with good food and lovely garden
Food on site was very good and reasonably priced. Gardens on site were lovely.
Very cute guesthouse, a little off the beaten path but easily accessible by bike or tuk tuck (or a 20 minute walk from central Ayutthaya). Friendly owner, and good food served from their kitchen.

Quiet respite
Pretty garden setting and ok room but it was overpriced at 1,200 THB. I would offer no more than 800 THB because the bathroom was dark and gloomy. The omelet for breakfast was good. Location is right across the street from ancient ruins.

This is my 5th stay at Baifern... and it will not be my last. The family are lovely, the breakfast is delicious and they are always helpful and friendly.... my favourite place to stay in Ayutthaya.
Lovely place, beautiful garden, clean comfortable home-from-home rooms. Very helpful staff booked our tuktuk transfers to train station and driver for day to see sights. Dinner available at hotel delicious home cooked meal. Recommend the pancake option for breakfast!
A beautiful atmoshpere with lots of plants and flowers in this tradional Thai family home. The standard rooms to the rear are the preferred for my taste( I stayed in 2 diff rooms)very minimal large with creative details. The upstairs single in the main house was cramped and loud from street noise. Famtastic outside sitting areas and across from another park of Ayuttaya ruins. Crazy middle of the night drunken singing may have been because of the New Years weekend.
Great place to stay and relax! Outside of the main town (which is small) and they have a very nice place to relax and read. Internet is good, and the owners are incredible.
This hotel is awesome. The owners are extremely friendly, the breakfast is superb. It is a 3 minute taxi ride away from the middle of the city. Located across the street from some ruins, it is a nice escape. The community area is very well thought out, almost as if you are in a jungle hut...very nice. Very clean hotel that I have zero complaints about. Do not hesitate to book there. I am an avid review reader before I book anywhere. Will definitely stay again on my next visit.
Nice little place away from town. The room was perfectly fine although the shower is something to get used too, as there's no tub and the water goes everywhere. The food was a highlight of this place, all the food we tried was amazing. The hotel also arranged a boat tour for 200 THB where we got to see a number of nice wats. There is a lovely man around the corner where you can hire bikes for only 50 baht for the day.
Only downside was our laundry was still wet which may have been down to rain which obviously can not be prevented, but we had to wash this again after as the smell was bad
