The costumer service is beyond great!!! The place is clean may need to work a little more on deep cleaning the bathrooms but hey! it's a hotel just a comment. I’d definitely come back!

The convenience of being picked up and dropped off wherever you need very helpful. The view spectacular ,the food amazing, the staff even more.

The staff and hotel experience was wonderful! Complementary breakfast between 11am- 2pm and shuttle services between 8am-10:30pm. Multiple places to watch the sun rise and enjoy the view.
I would stay here again.

The property is lovely. It’s situated about a 10 minute walk up hill from town. For my 13 year old son and I, this was a great distance to get a little walk in after a meal in town and just strenuous enough. I wouldn’t recommend it for elderly people or small children necessarily. My son enjoyed the pool (it was 8 feet at the deep end and he was excited he could dive) and the view from the pool area, which was spectacular. You can see all of Catalina from there. We stayed in the historic building, and loved the charm of it. Our deluxe room was plenty large for both of us, and the view of the mountains was pretty. I heard the woman at the front desk say they were all booked up, but it must have few enough rooms that it was as still quiet. We really enjoyed being able to come back to such a quiet, peaceful, nicely designed and decorated hotel. I’m so glad I paid a little more for this experience, and am happy to have not stayed in the bustle of the other hotels right in the busy tourist section of Avalon.

Overall the hotel was nice. They served breakfast each morning however, our room had no dresser or place to put your clothers, very small bathroom, shower door did not latch and water leaked everywhere. Staff was WONDERFUL!!

This place was like a dream come through, the view is dreamy, the staff is great, hospitality is on point, i never wanted to leave. Sylvia, Alyssa and Carl is so helpful and amazing people, i felt so comfortable, anytime they saw us they were so helpful, never hesitate to take us where we needed to go, i would highly recommend.

The staff was absolutely amazing. The view is stunning. They have a golf cart service to take you into town and back to the hotel. Can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Great spot for a quiet getaway in Avalon. Up a hill, so prepare to walk or have tips ready for the shuttle cart. Bed was adequate, room sheets and towels clean. And the robes were comfy. Floor was a little corner dusty. I would stay here again.

The room was very small, which we knew would be the case because it wasn’t nearly as costly. However, the design wasn’t great. There was no counter to put anything. No shelves in the shower. Zero water pressure. It was just an odd space. Be warned, there are bells that chime ever 15 minutes all day.
The staff was just friendly enough. No one went out of there way to be helpful other than the driver and the cook.
The breakfast was okay. Not great.
The views are nice.
The view from the hotel was stunning. I liked how there was a pool and complimentary transportation. My initial reaction to the room was that it was quiet small but smelled/seemed clean. However, at the end of the night as I was ready to climb into bed. I pulled the bed covers and found several pieces of hair on two different pillows. I also found a small wrapper on the bed sheets. This was quite disappointing considering how much we paid and it was gross finding several hair on the pillows.
Views were nice but property doesn't match with price. We didn't have hot water in our shower and bath tub was also broken. We wanted to call to the front desk to ask about the hot water but no phones in the room.
We stayed in the corner view ocean room in early August. Pros: Check in was easy and receptionist was very kind. The shuttle seem to run very often which is handy. Beds were comfortable. AC worked well and was not too loud. Cons: Overall impression, you don’t get what you pay for at this hotel. It’s a pretty hefty price tag which implies a certain a level of accommodations and service will be provided. A few of the issues: paper thin walls (our neighbors were partiers), broken couch in our room which had a rod popping out of the middle making it very uncomfortable to sit on, not to mention all the stains on the couch (needs a serious cleaning), pool furniture is either broken or terribly uncomfortable, both mornings of our stay the cook did not show up and the “included” breakfast did not happen before we needed to depart. We won’t be staying here again and are going to try another hotel in Avalon next time.
The property itself is charming. Great hillside location and
a sweet room with a beautiful view. Communication was wonderful prior to the stay, so no complaints there, but the tone changed on checkout with a very brusque, almost rude reminder to be downstairs to check out even though we were only ten minutes late. Then there was some confusion around picking up our bags at the ferry terminal. We weren't told where the driver would be, so we waited at the original pick up point while he was in the nearby parking lot. when I texted to find out where he was, I got a gruff response that he'd been waiting for 20 minutes...even though we couldn't possibly have known that. I was left feeling that the high turnover of guests/visitors to the island meant a dip in service was acceptable. What would've been a great stay in a hotel that I'd definitely return to--and recommend--as a SoCal resident became a sightly underwhelming experience.
Absolutely 💯 the best hotel ever , will never stay anywhere but here

Front desk - Sarah was extremely rude, and immature. She must not be aware that she works in hospitality. We paid for a room in advance and was told that my 2 minors ages 3 and 11 needed to leave the room, that we need to find another hotel since our party was too large (5 total). The entire island was sold out for the night. Sarah's reply was that is not my problem. I was shocked. She was seriously trying to get my 2 kids out of the room and forced us to stay in the lobby and at midnightkivked us off the propertyto sit on the ground in feont of hotel. For 4 hours, we were going back and forth. Sherrifs finally came and said we were able to stay the night as a family in our room. Tjis was titally unnecessary. We paid $444 a night and this was by far the worse experience i have ever had. I do not recommended staying here. Sarah was either having a bad night or hates working but its unfortunate that we were the victims. First time on the island and it was an awful experience to encounter

Dear Carolyn,We are sorry about your experience. Unfortunately, we disagreed with your description of your experience. First, you made the reservation with Expedia and only claimed the reservation was for one person. When you arrived with 5 people Sarah at the front desk advised you that the room's occupancy is for a maximum of two people and we are not allowed to have 5 people in that room. You were informed of this but were in a hurry to join a tour so you left. The hotel was full and we did try as you requested to find another lodging for you but every hotel is full with no vacancy. After you were back from your tour we even drove you to different hotels to see if there was any chance of finding an empty room. One hotel told us over the phone that they have a room but you need to go there in 10 minutes before he get off work. However, when you were ready to go and we drove you there he was gone for the day. You were arguing with Sarah for hours and we have to call the Sheriff to assist in the situation. Sheriff advise you the same and you were not listening. Finally, the Sherrif take into consideration the minor with you and asked the hotel to give special consideration to let you stay in the room since it was already 1 o'clock in the morning and no place to go. We agreed and let you know that it would be uncomfortable and we also waive the extra person charge. This would never happen if you enter the correct 5 people when you made the reservation and we would properly accommodate the type of room based on the number of people. We are sorry that you had a bad experience on your visit to the island. We hope you would come back to the island again. Please enter the correct number of people when you are making a reservation in Expedia so this would not happen in the future.We would like you to remove this review and we would also ask Expedia to do the same.
The hosts Sylvia and Sara were great. They made our stay worthwhile by displaying their hospitality and kindness. They hotel turned out to be everything you expected to be. I would definitely stay again.
